This past week has been quite a struggle for me to continuously get up really early and go to bed really late. My schedule has been overwhelmingly packed with work, shopping, parties, and even a few medical visits. Let's take a look at all the events that took place...
Friday
Friday of last week my mother had to go into surgery to get a spinal stimulator put in; so naturally, I had to be the one to take her, since I am the beloved/favorite child. I got up really early in the morning, picked her up, and we were off! It took about half of the day. We then ended up at my grandparent's house, and I stayed with her until I had to go up to my apartment. Well, it got to be a bit later than expected, and she didn't want me driving up by myself. Therefore, we ended having an adventure! I am a pretty stubborn child and like to be an independent woman, but my mom is also very stubborn and makes it so I can't spread my wings and fly. She is that type of mother bird that wants to make sure she can keep watch while her babies fly, that way if they ever do fall, she is always there to catch them. She wanted to come, but I refused because, well, she had just had surgery! Nevertheless, she got what she wanted in the end, and I ended up taking my grandfather, mother, cousin, and aunt with me as escorts up to my house. It was around 12 a.m. when I got there, and you could say we had a slumber party. Everyone was hungry, so I ordered a pizza, and it ended up being a dinner party too! My grandfather, who can barely walk, was having tons of fun. He doesn't get out much, and I think he lives for these unexpected days, and wants to make every single one of them count.
Saturday and Sunday
Well, the next day my family ended up leaving, and I got ready to go to my sorority retreat. It was filled with planners, discussions, sister bonding, food, fun, and much more. It was a really long retreat, but I'm glad I got to see my sisters after a summer of being apart.
Monday
WORK, WORK, and more WORK. I woke up early, drove 3 hours, and made it to work just in time. I got home really late too, so I didn't get the chance to sleep until 12-1 o' clock.
Tuesday
Yay for work! I did another shift of work from 9-9, so basically, I got home, took a shower, ate dinner, and fell asleep from exhaustion.
Wednesday
Today, I woke up really early, and went to my orthodontist appointment. See, I had already had braces previously, and had to have a tooth implant put in after I got my braces off. However, due to unforeseen events, I didn't get it done four years ago. I went this year to get a consult, and found out that the gap for that tooth was not wide enough. Let's just say I was not a happy camper. So, after much thought I have decided that I have no other choice but to get...braces. :*(
I saw my orthodontist, and we agreed upon a plan that cost almost nothing since technically it was not my fault. I, folks, will now be styling Invisalign within the next couple of weeks, so get ready for pictures in the near future!
After my eventful appointment, I went to my younger brother's friend's house to do a pre-pageant run of her makeup. We worked tirelessly for two hours trying to figure out how her makeup would look, and I can honestly say, I was even impressed with my handiwork.
I then rushed to go pick up my brother from work, so I could go get my eyebrows done, and then we could go shopping for school.
That's right. My baby brother is about to leave to go off to some foreign land called college this week. We spent almost 4 hours shopping for his dorm, and his classes, and let me just tell you, it was awful. I don't know what it is, but I HATE shopping with the opposite sex. They just don't get HOW to shop. It annoys me to no avail. My brother got so annoyed of my complaining that he bought me froyo just to get me to shut up--mind you, it was really good. We finally got home after a long day, and I went to sleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
Thursday
Well, if you had to guess, what would you think I did? That's right, you guessed it, I worked! I did another 9-9 shift and fell asleep as soon as I got home.
Friday
I woke up really early, and drove an hour just to make it to my doctor's appointment by 9:00 am. Thank God it wasn't busy, because I cannot stand waiting in the doctor's office all day. I then went to my grandparent's house, since they live right next door, and made breakfast for my momma and me. I then had to go shopping for some last minute gifts for my little, Sarah. I made her an amazing care package/dorm basket that I know will come in handy for the months ahead.
Unfortunately, she is about to leave and go to the place of dreams--New York! I'm so happy for her, but also really sad to see her leave. However, she wanted everyone to see her off, so she had herself a little going away party, which was spectacular! She set up a tent outside, with lights all around, and beautiful tables and chairs. She had tons of food, music, and people too! I left the party at a really late time, and arrived back at my grandparent's house at around 1:00 am. Thank goodness my mother was still up, or else I would not have been able to get into the house. By the time I fell asleep, it felt like a minute had past before I had to wake up, and drive back home so I could work at 9:00 am.

Let's just say I had one of those very crazy weeks. How was yours?
