Journal Entry [Take Three] (OCD Ruining Lives, One Minute at a Time)

Dear Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder,

I absolutely, positively, HATE you. You give me anxiety and unneeded stress in my life. Every single time I look at the volume on my car stereo, you make me want to change the volume to either end in a: 5 or a 0.

I attempted to get rid of you, but you keep coming back! I can't even use a pen because of you! Every time I mess up on a page, I can't just use white out! I see it as the utmost importance to get a new piece of paper and write the WHOLE page over again.

Everything I have has to be in order. I color code and sticky note everything, because you just won't leave me alone. You tire me out on a regular basis. Don't you think it's time to just calm down a little bit?

You give nightmares to the people around you. Every time you come out, you start to annoy the people around us by breathing down our necks, they start to look at us in a weird way, and you start making us all really angry. Sure, you can be helpful at times, but sticking your ugly head in everyone's personal business 24/7 is definitely NOT okay!

Do you know how many people I have to deal with and listen to when you show your dreadful head? A lot of people! Do you know how many people I know who have to deal with you? It's literally like 75% of the amount of human beings that I've ever met. I mean, it's getting kind of ridiculous. You remind me of a petty princess that wants all the attention on her. YOU are that annoying girl at parties dancing drunk on all the tables, demanding everyone watch you while simultaneously making a fool of yourself.

Let's just say it's time for you to shove your head where the sun don't shine, and make a disappearing act. I'm sure I speak for many when I say, "leave, and try not to come back too often." That would be greatly appreciated.

Please take this time to consider this alternative approach, or else I will have no choice but to see someone for this absurd problem, and you will become extinct. Now is that what you really want?

Love Always,
A very disturbed human

"Rather Be" Me

Saturday, July 26, 2014

You know when you do something, and it's probably not in your best interest to do it; but you don't care, and do it anyways? Well, I feel like I do these so-called "events" on a daily basis. Let us take for example the words that come out of my mouth. I have this knack of not filtering what I say before I say them. If someone asks me what I think of something, I give them a straightforward answer, even if it's a little bit rude. Another example would be that I say the most inappropriate things at the wrong time. I get this feel of unease when everyone is really solemn and serious, and I usually make a joke to lighten the mood. Sure, it sounds funny in my head, but that doesn't mean it sounds funny elsewhere, especially in those situations. Some people will laugh, and others who don't understand my humor will look at me like I've completely lost my mind!

There are times that I also just say the weirdest things imaginable. Even my brother makes comments like, "how do you even have this many friends?" You could say I'm just that awesome.

However, even through my weirdness, I still feel like I am very much loved within my own world of comrades. Since we're on this subject, I just want to say thank you to all those that have put up with me all these years (you know who you are).

Now today I have decided to do one of these moments for all of my viewers to see! I have uploaded another YouTube video to a song called "Rather Be" by Clean Bandit. The song is really fun and a little bit playful. It has a few extra features in the video, so I hope you enjoy!

After Sun Tan-Enhancing Lotion

Friday, July 25, 2014

Everyone who knows me knows I have the most pasty skin out there. I kid you not, the best kind of color I can muster up when I go outside to attempt to tan is red. I only have two color tones, and those are "paper white" and "lobster red." If I put only an SPF 30 sunscreen on, I burn. If I decide to go for the SPF 70 then I still turn red! Then, when the red peels away, I go back to my naturally white complexion. There is no way to defeat the obscene color my skin possesses.

BUT WAIT ONE MINUTE...I have decided to use something that keeps me from turning back into a ghost, while not turning my skin orange!

So my mother bought me this "After Sun" lotion from Victoria Secret. I was very skeptical about it, because I hate lotion that turns my skin orange, or when it just doesn't work. Though I thought about it, and told myself that it was worth a try. I mean, there was nothing to loose other than the red color that had inhabited my skin....

After I came home from South Carolina, I started putting on the after sun, tan-enhancing lotion (with conditioning shea butter), and it has worked wonders! I can even see a tan line from where my bracelet used to be. If you haven't gone out and tried it, then I recommend buying a small bottle and seeing how it works on your skin. I can tell you that it's definitely worth the investment.

What other lotions or sprays have you used to help give you some color?

Past of the Future

Thursday, July 24, 2014

So, you all know that I like to dabble in anything and everything. I love trying new things, and letting my heart lead me to different hobbies and paths. One of those hobbies is writing a bit of poetry. Okay, I have to admit, I'm not the best at it, but it sums up a lot of a story in just a few lines. When I write, it's like I'm putting a piece of myself into the poem. It's not just about the style or the actual storyline--it's about the story between the lines that speaks to me. There is so much untold in a poem; it's encrypted within the story. The subtle hints within, give an air of mystery to not only the background behind the story, but also the author from which the poem originated.

I usually feel the need to write in a poem-like structure when I have too much to say and so little time to say it all. The poems do not necessarily have to be about me or have anything to do with me in the slightest. It might be because I witnessed an event, or read something, or even let the peaceful drawl from the end of a day lead me to a random topic of choice.

I absolutely love getting out my journal and seeing where my mind takes me. Everyone needs a break from life, and this is one of mine. It takes awhile for someone to find that hobby that really helps them with life, but when they do, it feels like a warm sunrise that brings a promise of spring from the cold winter that was had that year.

I'll show you a piece I wrote a little while back, and you can be the judge...

Past of the Future

Where once it was dark,
There was a shadow following me.
I could not get rid of,
What I couldn't see.

I fought, and I stumbled, and I even lost my way,
But there was a path that lie ahead of me,
And I knew it was here to stay.

I was young at the time,
And I didn't understand,
Everything had a purpose,
And everything was planned.

I sat in the dark, wondering what was wrong,
And the angel by my side sung me a song.

He sang words of wisdom that has yet to come undone,
But this much I knew: I knew where I was from.

As time will unravel,
The secrets of my past.
It shall also unveil my future quite fast.

There is something that is coming,
But I still don't know what.
But with time it will come,
And pull me out of this rut.

The question of faith lies from within.
I just have to wait for it to begin.

World Class Traveler

It's been awhile, I know, but there is a reason as to why I fell off the face of this earth. I actually took a vacation from my work infested-life and had myself an adventure!

For the past two weeks, I have scoured another country, and went to different states. Okay, sure, that other country might have been Canada, but it counts right?

I first started my vacation by going to Toronto with my two lovely sisters, Sarah and Krysten, to see BeyoncĂ© and JayZ. Let me just tell you, they were AMAZING! That concert hands down made the top 5 list. We did end up at the very top row, but we still danced and sang to all the songs, and BeyoncĂ© seriously knows how to put on a good show.

#Friendsforever
I also had the pleasure of seeing my long lost friend, Jeaneva, as well! It's been about 3 years since I have seen her, and just being able to meet her for dinner was enough to reminisce on those good ole' days. She's one of those people that you can stop talking to for years, and pick up where you left off when you see them again. I absolutely adore her.

The day after getting there we end up leaving because I was going to South Carolina that very next day. Let me just say that driving is NOT something ANYONE should have to endure for long periods of time. It took six hours going there, six hours going back, then I spent sixteen hours that very next day driving to Myrtle Beach. It felt like my own personal hell on earth. Lessoned learned: do not drive more than four hours ANYWHERE!

But those five days in Myrtle Beach were splendid! I learned how to body board, I got some color to my skin (red), and I got to sleep in for a change! My cousin and I also went to this place called Wonder Works. It's like Cosi, but with a lot more activities. They had virtual rides, interactive mind games, and a bunch of activities that made a person really use their brain. Oh, and I also played laser tag for the first time in my life. It was actually pretty fun! All in all I had a pretty good two weeks! How were yours?
